Where do you teach?
Lessons take place in my Crediton home studio, with available on road parking. The full address will be sent once booked in. I also do online lessons via zoom.
What do I need for my first lesson?
An idea of a song to start with is always great. But other than that, just bring yourself, a water bottle and make sure you're wearing non-restrictive clothing.
How do I pay?
Via bank transfer ideally, bank details will be sent once booked in.
What styles of music do you teach?
I teach a wide range of styles! However, the genres I teach most often are Musical Theatre, Pop, Rock, Soul, Jazz, Country and Folk.
What do singing lessons involve?
These lessons involve warm-ups using a range of vocal exercises and then working on chosen music. However, this can be adapted to suit you.
What will I learn?
Of course this depends on what you’re wanting to gain from these lessons however, the main points of focus are:
Warm-ups that will safely and effectively prepare your voice for the lesson.
Vocal exercises that will strengthen and build range, stamina, agility and technique.
Learning material (these songs can be chosen by you or suggested by Flo).
Vocal anatomy and how the science behind vocal technique can give us the tools to sing more efficiently.
Audition prep (whether that’s learning/ choosing material, filming self tapes or working on performance).
Acting through song.
Vocal health (through singing or spoken voice).
Building confidence and most importantly finding the joy that singing/ music can bring!
What abilities do you teach?
All abilities are welcome from beginner to professional, and my age range is 8+.
Do you teach group lessons?
My private tuition is on a one-to-one basis, however please contact me to enquire about group lessons or workshops.
What happens if I can’t make a lesson?
If I have to cancel a lesson then I will offer refunds or reschedule. I don't however offer refunds for lessons you cancel or cannot attend. However, if prior to booking a block of lessons there is a date you are unavailable, we can work around that.
How much are the lessons?
I charge £17 for 30min lessons, £25.50 for 45min lessons and £34 for hour lessons. These are payable either as a one off or as 6/7 weekly (half termly) blocks. Bi-weekly lessons are also available.
